  • Life is much better when Jared isn`t sick anymore.Travelling with a sick husband is simply not much fun; either I feel bad for going out and doing things without him, or I stay to take care of him, feel bad for not seeing anything while travelling, and drive him crazy by being obsessive.
  • I can see where Montreal would be an awesome town if you were in your early 20s and wanted to do the party scene. But for me it was sorta meh; it`s not pretty in the way that Vancouver is, and it has the somewhat oppressive atmosphere of a big 1880s urban development.
  • Quebec City, on the other hand, is awesome.

how do i read gas prices here?

i keep seeing signs that say things like "114,9". now, i don't believe that the charge is $114,90/litre; the economy couldn't function if that were true.

But I have no idea what the signs do mean.

Can anyone help?

I will be visiting your metroplex for a work meeting from late afternoon on May 12 through early afternoon on May 15. I'm work-busy on the 14th and 15th, but I made them fly me out early so I could see a city i've never been to.

It came to my attention while I was visiting Louisiana last week that there has been a controversy regarding the eligibility of former Senator John Breaux to run for the office of Governor of Louisiana. It seems that some have claimed that former Senator Breaux, who has been working as a lobbyist in the District of Columbia, has established a residence in the state of Maryland, and is registered to vote in Maryland, is not a citizen of Louisiana. The argument is that citizenship in Louisiana is precluded by these acts.

The celebrants of the wedding which brought me to Baton Rouge had planned for every occasion. They'd put all the out of towners up in one hotel, and provided directions and maps for how to get between the hotel and the venue. Nothing could go wrong, right?

Wrong.

A chemical spill shut down the road in front of the hotel, making it impossible to follow the directions given.

It's amazing how much distance can be covered walking in tiny areas. Take, for example, the Viex Carre --- roughly .9 miles from Canal St to Esplanade Ave, roughly .4 miles from Decatur St to Rampart St. Walk up each street lengthwise and then back down the other, and you end up with .. 12.4 miles. :)
